My research focuses on freshwater biodiversity and how climate change and other stressors such as eutrophication, salinization and drought influence the communities, food webs and ecosystem functioning. Particularly, I study functional structure (e.g, body size), and biological quality indices of the key elements(i.e., zooplankton, invertebrates) of inland waters ranging from lentic (i.e. lakes, ponds) to lotic (i.e. intermittent rivers). I combine different approaches (e.g., experiments, biomonitoring surveys, data compilation) across climatic and environmental gradients.
