Climate warming is impacting organismal metabolism and energy fluxes in food webs leading to far-reaching consequences for human well-being and the deterioration of ecological services including food production and security. The WARMSIZE project aims to provide novel insights into the organism’s metabolism and energy fluxes of food webs via body size scaling relationships in response to climate warming. The WARMSIZE project proposes a creation of easily replicated closed ecosystems with well-controlled initial and external conditions that assure a long-term measurement of the trophic dynamics of planktonic food webs.
