Taxomara 2026 is just around the corner! Don’t miss the 20th Iberian Congress of Myrmecology (Taxomara 2026), which will be held from July 8th to 10th at the Móstoles campus of Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC). The Institute for Research on Global Change (IICG-URJC) invites you to participate in this enriching event, which we are helping to organize.

This congress is organized by the Iberian Association of Myrmecology (AIM) and brings together researchers, professionals, students, and enthusiasts interested in the study of ants, establishing itself as the leading forum for scientific exchange in this field on the Iberian Peninsula.

Cursos de verano

After twenty editions, Taxomara has become a key event in the Mediterranean and internationally, addressing crucial issues such as the taxonomy, ecology, behavior, and conservation of myrmecofauna. This year’s program will be organized into three days: the first dedicated to scientific communication through oral presentations and posters; the second focused on a field trip for species observation; and the third dedicated to laboratory work and the taxonomic identification of samples. The congress will also include complementary activities, such as the AIM assembly and a closing dinner celebrating Taxomara’s twentieth anniversary.

Registration is now open, and all event information, including the program and registration form, is available online. Early bird registration discounts are offered, especially for AIM members. The deadline for submitting scientific abstracts is June 1, 2026. With this new edition, the IICG-URJC reinforces its role as a leading canter for research on biodiversity and global change, fostering scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange in the study of ecosystems.
