Sergio Núñez Castillo

Sergio, graduate in Biology and Masters’ degree in Ecosystem Restoration.

I began my professional career by completing my internship alongside my Master’s thesis in community ecology, titled “High-throughput phenotyping of foliar nutrients and photosynthetic pigments in two coexisting pine species”, within the PHENOTYPES project. Afterwards, I worked as a research technician in evolutionary ecology in the EVOLCROP project at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. I am currently a Research Support Investigator in the QUERPIN group, where I have been able to refocus on community ecology.

Over these years, I have gained training in different branches of ecology, participating in fieldwork, greenhouse and laboratory activities, as well as in sample collection and data analysis. I am proficient in various data analysis tools such as Excel, R, and Python, as well as cartography software (QGIS) and dendroecology tools (CooRecorder, CDendro, and COFECHA).
