Sandra Freire Rallo

My work is focussed on evolutionary biology of fungi and lichens. I study what the phylogenetic relationships are like between them, their joint evolutionary history, as well as their great diversity. To do this, I combine different genomic, molecular biology and microscopy techniques with morphological and ecological data. On a global level, I am interested in understanding the ecological requirements of these organisms and how environmental conditions affect their life cycle.
