Miren Arantzazu López de Luzuriaga

I am an ecologist specialized in plant communities. My primary interest is understanding the ecological mechanisms responsible for species coexistence, particularly in arid and semi-arid environments worldwide. My research focuses on perennial and annual plant communities, which serve as model systems for studying plant-plant interactions, competition and facilitation processes, and seed bank dynamics. In this research line, we conduct experimental and field-based observational studies, combined with analyses of taxonomic, phylogenetic, and functional diversities within species assemblages.
