My area of study focuses on Behavioural Ecology and Animal Ecophysiology and my study model are birds. I am interested in understanding the proximate and ultimate causes of behaviour, particularly the function and evolution of social signals and the physiological mechanisms involved in their expression. I am currently researching how environmental changes in climatic variables modify plumage colouration and its effect on individual fitness. I am also working on another line of research that I have recently started on the ecological impacts of invasive birds in urban environments, taking the monk parakeet as a case study.
