My field of work lies at the intersection of plant physiology and microbial ecology. Currently, we are studying plant-microbiota interactions and exploring how these metaorganisms respond to stress situations caused by soil contamination with metalloids, rising temperatures, and other factors. We evaluate the adaptive capacity of this symbiotic association and also assess its effects on fitness. Additionally, I am involved in research projects related to phylogenetic relationships in lichens, evolutionary models, applications of lichen substances in biotechnology, and the use of lichens as environmental pollution indicators
