Luis García Quintanilla

My research primarily focuses on the ecology of ferns. I am particularly interested in the adaptive consequences of allopolyploidization, which is a common speciation mechanism in this plant group, and in the trade-off between growth and tolerance to abiotic stress. I combine observational studies in natural populations with cultivation experiments under controlled conditions, considering both the gametophyte and sporophyte stages.
