Soil characterization of study plots for ecological monitoring. Soil heterogeneity will be studied in the ecological monitoring plot characterized and marked on the La Campana estate (Checa, Guadalajara). More specifically, soil heterogeneity will be evaluated by taking soil samples from the nodes of a regular grid on the ground. Samples will be taken by specialized personnel at a depth of 15 cm and a diameter of 3 cm. The following parameters will be evaluated in each soil sample analyzed (to be assessed according to soil type):

  • Total C, IC, and OC by TOC (which gives the organic, inorganic, and total fractions)
  • Total N
  • ICP analysis (includes a large number of macro- and micronutrients, P, Ca, and Mg among them)
  • pH and conductivity
  • Texture
