Ernesto Recuero Gil
I am a zoologist specialized in the study and characterization of biodiversity in poorly known or understudied groups, primarily within the phylum Arthropoda. My research focuses on uncovering and delimiting the true diversity and evolutionary history of these organisms through integrative approaches that combine systematics, phylogeny, and phylogeography. By jointly analyzing genetic, morphological, and ecological data, I identify evolutionary lineages, patterns of endemism, and diversification processes that remain hidden within complex communities. This work contributes to expanding our knowledge of still undocumented biodiversity and provides a solid scientific basis for its assessment and conservation.
