I am a plant ecologist interested in exploring the patterns and mechanisms that govern the assembly of communities of organisms, including plants, lichens, and soil microbiota. I have worked in extreme environments such as alpine, antarctic, and semi-arid regions, as well as those linked to forest ecosystems and agroecosystems. I focus particularly on functional and ecophysiological traits, phylogenetic relationships, biotic interactions, spatial patterns, and ecosystem functioning, evaluating all of these within the context of global change. My research combines observational field studies with experimentation, using ecophysiological and molecular techniques, as well as Vis-NIR spectroscopy. I master statistical methods, advanced machine learning, and spatial pattern analysis, including the management of LiDAR and satellite imagery.
