Ana García Muñoz, Soy bióloga evolutiva enfocada en abordar aspectos evolutivos desde el punto de vista de la ecología y la genómica evolutiva

Carlos García Lanchares

My scientific contribution focuses on the spatial and temporal modeling of environmental phenomena, integrating advanced remote sensors (InSAR, LiDAR) and in situ data to sharpen early warning systems and optimize monitoring costs. My doctoral research focused on geological hazards, and currently, in the postdoctoral stage, I exercise technical leadership in Geomatics applied to the sustainable management of coastal resources, preparing a manuscript on Dynamic Indexes for intertidal environments. I possess consolidated scientific-technical capabilities, including the management of high-precision GPS, GIS, and the advanced programming necessary for Radar and LiDAR data processing. Furthermore, my research systematically focuses on knowledge transfer and the pillars of sustainable development, aiming to create and disseminate open-source function packages (in R and Python) to standardize the analysis of large volumes of ecological and geological data, thereby facilitating inter-institutional collaboration.

I have actively contributed to the training of young researchers through the transfer of advanced analytical capabilities and the creation of practical training tools (R and Python packages). My dedication to teaching is evident in my collaboration on the teaching and material development for the GIS subject in the Master’s program in Policies at Maastricht University, demonstrating my international contribution to postgraduate training. My professional background is complemented by significant experience in the private sector and participation in two main research groups (one focusing on Advanced Geomatics in Civil Engineering and the BIOMA Group in Global Change Research), which has strengthened knowledge transfer in both civil and ecological remote sensing applications.
