I study the responses and adaptations of species to global change, and its consequences for society and the environment. Understanding these mechanisms is key if we want to preserve biodiversity and maintain the evolutionary processes that occur in species.
Furthermore, I seek ways to promote these types of responses in species and evaluate their potential. This includes the use and study of genetic tools (specific genes, directed gene flow, etc.), the development of new genotypes adapted to specific conditions (drought, flowering, etc.), and the interactions between species (microbiota, pollination) that can improve the fitness and resilience of species.
In this same vein, I have also worked on several conservation projects for threatened species, both plants and animals, in collaboration with companies and institutions. Participating in both the application and development of these projects, as well as their overall analysis, I study how to develop the best possible actions and evaluate the optimal way to implement them.
