I work in tropical ecology, studying the mechanisms that generate diversity patterns in montane ecosystems of the Andes. Although my main interest has always been herpetology, I am currently conducting my thesis using vascular plants as a study system to uncover the mechanisms driving this great diversity in tropical areas at taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic levels. I am also very interested in biogeography, phylogeography, and genetics.
