On October 1, 2025, Adrián Escudero, director of the IICG and researcher in the Biodiversity and Conservation Area at URJC, received the Foreign Honorary Professor Award at the VII International Congress of Environmental Engineering of UCSM. You can find the video in an Instagram post.

Following the ceremony, the IICG signed an agreement with the School of Environmental Engineering from the Catholic University of Santa María (Peru).
The news published by URJC highlighted that “the connection between Spain and Latin America should be a priority in all areas, and especially in the field of research”.
Furthermore, at said congress, VII International Congress of Environmental Engineering “Yachay for Tomorrow” of the UCSM, which was held between September 29 and October 1, 2025, Adrián Escudero gave a very interesting presentation entitled: “Biodiversity: between the urgency of stopping its loss and the complexity of its management”.
